Curriculum For Terrain Of Essence Certification Program


You may enroll in workshops, attend study groups and schedule private sessions whether or not you enroll in the Training Program.

The school welcomes all level of learners from practitioners advanced in their field of study to those newly stepping onto this path of inquiry.

The workshops below can give you an idea of the depth and expanse of the Terrain of Essence training. To understand this body of work one must experience it.

With each level of training students deepen their understanding of this work and build their understanding of the principles, philosophy and practice.

The open apprentice style approach of this training gives students the ability to create their own structure and be able to pace their learning in a way appropriate for themselves.

Curriculum


Entrance Requirements:
1. Attend 3 'Gifts of Being' classes or online equivalent.
2. Receive 2 private sessions, in-person, online or by phone.
3. Enrollment fee of $50.00 to register for the training to access forms.

Basic Certificate 300 Hours:
1 year Lataif Training ~ 66 units
Year 2 & 3 of the Lataif Training series ~ 132 units
Follow-up Study Groups ~ 90 units
12 Private Sessions ~ 12 units

Practitioner Certificate 350 Hours:
*Pre-requisite ~ Basic 300 Hour Lataif Training
Follow-up Study Groups ~ 40 units
10 Private Sessions ~ 10 units
Academic Review or Repeat Lataif Training 1 & 2 ~ 60 units
Chrysalis Group ~ 25 units
Touching the Terrain ~ 48 units
Practitioner Group ~ 36 units
Ethics & Emotions, Energetics & Hygiene ~ 16 units
Elements of a Successful Practice ~ 8 units
Supervision Group & Recommended reading ~ 30 units
65 Documented Sessions with different people ~ 65 units
3 meetings ~ Review & Feedback of Documentation with Supervisor ~ 12 units

Evaluation:
* 3 sessions ~ Practitioner in training and client observed by supervisor.
* Presentation of Terrain of Essence given as an introduction to your practice to a minimum of 4 people and the supervisor.
* A written essay at least 500 words on what the philosophy and principles of Terrain of Essence means to you.
* Completion fee $150.00

Continuation:
Agreement to enroll in a class biennially for continuing education.
Workshops and retreats not listed apply.

About Classes


Gifts of Being: Directly experience your True Self through active inquiry and spontaneous somatic illumination releasing energetic entanglements and self-limiting beliefs. This class is open to newcomers and offers students additional practice and support.

First Year Lataif Training: An orientation process and study of the soul's anatomy through a navigational mapping system designed to grow an understanding of the body-mind cosmology and true nature of Self. This is the foundational course for the Terrain of Essence Teachings.

Second & Third Year Lataif Training: An active study and integration process to embody wholeness. While the first year focuses on the personal self, the second year explores relationship of the self and other. The third year goes beyond to include the collective consciousness.
*Pre-requisite: Completion of First Year Latiaf Training

​Follow-up Study Groups:
 A supportive environment to further self-discovery and exercise the practical exploration and application of the course studies. These classes offer essential experiential learning to assist with the growth and development of  one's self-actualization process.
*Required adjunct to the Lataif Training series and available to prior students on-going

Private Sessions: Providing a safe environment to explore the intricacies and inner workings of the mind-body-soul relationship. These sessions offer rare invaluable insight and deeper skill building opportunities in learning to discern, trust and know one's essential nature.
 
Academic Lataif Review: Lively discussions to review and understand the pure qualities of the soul, with that of the ego's defense structure and how the body responds. This class covers the nine basic latifas and the maturation phases.
*Pre-requisite: Completion of First Year Lataif Training

​Chrysalis Group:
 The next step and beyond for students who have completed the 3 year training.  Experiencing unity and collective creation embracing the Self, group and the world as a whole. Open to new members each September. No class July or August. *Pre-requisite: Completion of  Three Year Lataif Training

​Touching the Terrain: 
Playing in the quantum field. Deepen and expand presencing skills for growing subtler awareness, sensitivity and intuitive capacity through energetic touch for resourcing, trauma, reorganization, and assimilation. Six eight hour modules.
 
Practitioner Group: Mentorship for those who are currently in practice with clients or are actively building their practice to integrate this skill set. Blended modalities are welcome as well as those who are interested in being practitioners of this spiritual methodology.
*Pre-requisite: Prior completion of 450 hours
 
Ethics & Emotions, Energetics & Hygiene:  The basic concepts and fundamental principles for behavior and conduct, cleanliness and hygiene; both energetic and physical. There will be a questionnaire and a written component to this course.
 
Elements of a Successful Practice: An overview that covers the basic principles for building a successful practice: from documenting chart notes, and intake forms, to learning about laws, advertising, networking, zoning, business license, taxes, etc.

Supervision Group & Recommended Reading: An opportunity to work in group with other students one on one while under teacher supervision. As well as taking turns with leading the group. Each person will have a chance to participate as well as give and receive feedback, and develop ethical communication skills.

65 Documented Sessions with Different People: Develop documentation and tracking skills. Notate and track at least ten or more people, follow and track their case.

3 meetings ~ Review & Feedback of Documentation with Supervisor: Bring twenty or so documented sessions to each meeting and present to the supervisor for feedback. This is a time to bring up concerns and to deepen insight. ​

​Class Policies


Payment
As with any course for higher education payment is required for all classes whether attended or not. 

Missed Classes
If a class is missed in a month the adjunct group still needs to be attended. Missing an entire month at a time is not supportive and can be Self-sabotaging. Emergencies are the exception. Sometimes life events like marriages, weddings and funerals ask for attendance. In this case meet with students from class to review notes. 

Resistence
The aim of this work is to grow integral wholeness. Any part of the ego's personality structure that is not in alignment may react. Defense patterns are the result of perceived deficiency cover-ups. The cover-up is an attempt to camouflage the hole, the emptiness of 'not knowing' or the structure of the self we're familiar with as as not existing. There are a variety of defenses which imitate the different qualities of the latifas. For example, stubbornness is a false sense of feeling impeccable! Or self-righteousness can be an imitation of wisdom...other deviations can show up as devaluation, criticism, judgement, perfectionism and on and on. All to avoid the void. It is invaluable to own the resistance and to presence what is being avoided.

Committment
To develop wholeness one must be willing to show up again and again in order for positive change to occur. Resistance is nothing more than a fear of change. Simply thinking about it keeps what is hidden at bay. It must be felt and witnessed to usher forth true change. Each tactic when presenced reveals a secret doorway when entered offers an opportunity to authentically grow. As with anyone who may feel vulnerable, rejected, abandoned, isolated or ignored, it is with loving compassion and care that these edges are supported so they can be melted through providing a fertile soil to grow a newfound sense of well-being.
